THE POWER OF REMOTE CONTROL

During my TV channel-surfing, I exercise power over my kingdom and the following are a few of the programs that I either switch-off as quickly as humanly possible, or they're muted while I utter insults:

1. George W. Bush (and friends Chenney, Rice and Ashcroft)
2. Richard Dreyfuss in anything post "Jaws"
3. Sharon Stone in anything
4. The Tonight Show with Jay Leno
5. Pauley Shore, period.
6. American Idol (all past and future seasons)
7. Michael Jackson (except in clips during Jackson Five years and when he is mocked by Jimmy Kimmel)
8. Happy Days reruns "filmed before a live audience"
9. Fox News (esp. but not limited to the Bill O'Reilly Show)
10. ANY incarnation of the Mickey Mouse Club

These I can watch in marathon-fashion:

1. I Love Lucy
2. Bewitched (esp. Dick York years)
3. Green Acres
4. Celebrity Poker Showdown (even more fun when Dave Foley is tipsy)
5. Turner Classic Movies (commercial free) too many to list...
6. The Sopranos
7. The Daily Show/Colbert Report
8. South Park
9. The Godfather I and II (although I own the DVDs... I CAN'T NOT watch)
10. The Weather Channel

ohhhh...how I love South Park!

But I'm going to have to disagree with Happy Days. Sometimes I like cheesy shows. I just can't help it.

Oh, and I like your blog.

If you can find multiple versions of "The Mickey Mouse Club" on your television, you are paying WAY too much for your cable service.

Either that, or I'm not paying enough.

i wholeheartedly agree with your list of shows not to watch.

at our house, we would add any cooking show that involves Bobby Flay to that list. it's called the "fuck Flay" rule.

Woahwoahwoah.....No 'What About Bob?'? That movie was hilarious!

Will totally agree with the older shows, though. I totally dig I Love Lucy & Bewitched (the early years).

LOVE Bill Murray - but no can do on the Dreyfuss, sorry.

I was going to chime in about "What About Bob", but emertron beat me to it! I'm no Dreyfuss fan, but that movie is one of my favorites. Actually part of its appeal is seeing him slowly get torn apart.

I 100% agree with everything else on the blacklist, and would add quite a few to the marathon list...
