Today I left an apple in my tote bag on the front seat of my car. I returned a few hours later to leave for an appointment. When I got in my car the smell instantly beamed me back in time to my first grade classroom and I was opening up the little closet where we kept our sack lunches... then ZAP! ...I was back in my car again.

I had that moment today, but with solvent. I had made that trip to my dad's workshop in Phoenix and back to the present within seconds.
Isn'at it amazing what triggers those memories. They are the greatest!!! :)
What a nice post. Fendi perfume makes me search in vain for my aunt. I told her that once & she said that she debated getting a new scent a while back but then realized that she would have to buy all new clothes & liked her clothes so she just stuck with it.
The German poet Friedrich Schiller used to keep an apple in his desk drawer. He would would open the drawer and allow the rotting smell to waft up to his nostrils when he needed inspiration.
