TAXING

It is early in the morning... or very late at night - which ever way you choose. I had two major tasks that I've been putting off - both with due dates tomorrow - and I got a very late start this evening. First was to clean out my current broken refrigerator as a new one will be delivered tomorrow. Nothing but the condiments and bottled water were spared, but I somehow managed to fill half a large hefty bag with what used to be "food."

The second task was to sort out and add up all my receipts as I will pay a visit to my accountant tomorrow also. (see the dumped pile of receipts on my bed).

I have decided that this time of year (tax time) is an excellent way to revisit memories of the past year. The only other better way to conjure up such memories is purely olfactory based. I sort through my receipts and throw out many - I just tend to throw every receipt I get into my plastic file folder. But what strikes me is how many great memories of places I went or things I did come flooding back when I see all these receipts - especially the restaurant bills and ticket stubs for movies and concerts. At the end of this last year I kept saying I was so happy that the year was finally over and I could not wait until the new year began. But seeing all this compiled evidence laid out on my bed... it is undeniable that there were actually many good times that ocurred during last year and that triggered some lovely memories. Let's just hope all these good times will add up to a nice return.

Ugh... now that they're sorted, I've got to add them all up to fill out my worksheet. Time for bed.

ahhhh!!! Taxes!! Don't remind me!

I was supposed to be born on Tax Day, but I was born 6 weeks early instead. Good thing...people are not allowed to be stressed on my birthday!
