AUTUMN: OFFICIALLY SPEAKING

I always say it's not officially autumn until I get my first pomegranate from my brother's tree. Last night it was chilly enough to add pj bottoms to my sleeping attire. I haven't made the summer-to-winter comforter transition yet... but that will come in due time. And there is even leaf action from the trees that line the boulevard on the way into work. Halloween has come and gone, new and better movies are slowly populating the theaters, the fires are out, and the Iconoclasts series is back on the Sundance Channel. Yeah, it's Autumn. Finally. But in So-California, appearances (and weather) can be deceiving.

After my weekly visit to the liquor store to buy my super lotto ticket (oh, I AM going to win - you just wait) I popped into a local coffee shop...

Man: Medium cappucino. Seems like the weather is finally coolin' down, eh?

Clerk: Oh, but did you see the newspaper? We're looking at an 80-degree weekend.

Man: *sigh* Make that a blended.

Clerk: Indeed. And you, miss?

Me: I'm an optimist. I'll take a non-fat latte with a cup of ice on the side.

Clerk:....

Me: ...to go.

Clerk:....

How cold does it get there? I thought that LA was like 78 & sunny all the time.

I haven't had a pomegranate in forever.

Em - that's pretty much true in the daytime... but at our "coldest" the night temps at least dip below 50 or so.

Grunt - go now and get one!!!

Yeah, the heater in my apartment is always warm, even if you turn the thermostat down, so I have to have it turned off in the summer. But last night, jammy pants alone would not cut the mustard so I called my landlord to have it turned back on. Maybe that was a mistake.

hehehe. It's chilllllly in SD. Like, you-need-to-wear-a-sweatshirt-or-you'll-be-shivering chilly. What's that about SUNNY San Diego? I can't even FIND the sun today!

Pomegranates are AMAZING!
