However, today - in what may prove to be the most historic election in our country's history to date - the auditorium for the littles was PACKED with bigs! We who waited ONE HOUR to get our ballots to vote filled the seats of the auditorium and the poll workers were very busy keeping everything flowing smoothly - forming lines making sure we were at the right stations, etc. I must say, in spite of not having the room to cross my legs, I was overwhelmed by the sight of this crowd of voters. come to think of it, never in all my voting days have I used the phrase "crowd of voters." The whole thing kind of gives me a lump in my throat.
On the drive into work I saw lines outside polling places and "yes" and "no" proposition signs line the grassy center dividers along Venice Blvd. People at work are wearing their "I voted" stickers... and I find myself checking CNN as if ANY results are in yet. Now I'm thinking I should have taken the day off I'm so preoccupied... I'm gonna vote for that next year.

I felt overwhelmed, too. Living in such separate lives, yet all coming together for one reason was a really amazing feeling.
