I just got through watching JULIE & JULIA... now all I can think about is cooking food and blogging, so I guess you can say that I am sort of inspired. Although it's 11:00 pm, so it's probably not a great time to cook - but coincidentally enough - we're having a breakfast potluck at work next week and I volunteered to make a crustless quiche from a recipe that a co-worker's wife gave me (both of whom are French, by the way). Is it synchrodestiny? Dr. Chopra would undoubtedly agree.
I'm thinking of adding mushrooms and sun-dried tomatoes to mine (and I want a pie dish like this!):
I'm finally through reading scripts for the Nicholl Fellowship competition for 2009. About 3/4 of the scripts were submitted electronically, so I spent the better part of my home 'computer time' reading rather than writing. Next year I'll be able to read scripts anytime anywhere on my new Kindle DX. I've only downloaded one book (here we go again, Deepak) Julie & Julia by Julie Powell. Last weekend I THOROUGHLY cleaned my kitchen so well it made me want to cook! So I figured I'd buy a book based on a blog based on a book about cooking. See how it all ties together? Next up on the reading list: Pride Prejudice and Zombies.
So far so good with the Kindle DX. A small feature is one of my faves... the screen savers are all of famous authors (getting back to my English major roots):
Reading, blogging and cooking... long gone are the days when summers were spent swimming, swimming and swimming.
