Last night I found a lady bug on my bedspread when I was getting ready to turn in. My first thought: "Hey, aren't these lucky?" I scooped it up with a Starbucks card and put it on my dresser. In the morning I looked and it was gone... but wait... there it was on my jute blinds - the closest thing to any kind of plant life in my room. It remained there as I got ready for work and as I was preparing to make my exit for the day I thought, "Man, if I were a lady bug I'd hate to be sitting on a jute blind all day." So I again scooped it up with the same Starbucks card and walked it out to the courtyard and placed on the leaf of my potted rose bush. "Aw, I saved it. This must be where the luck comes in!"
When I got to work I stopped at the coffee counter to grab my first morning cup. A couple of favorite co-workers were there and also the girl from accounting who wears lots of clamdigger pants and 4-inch wedgy shoes in the summer.
ME: I found a lady bug in my room last night and it was still there this morning.
CoWorker1: Hey, those are good luck.
ME: Yeah, that's what I thought!
CoWorker2: Do you have it in a jar or something?
ME: No... I actually set it free on my way out.
CoWorker1: That's when you should've made a wish.
ClamdiggerGirl: Ew, you have bugs?
