At 10ish or so today I began strolling from my office to the centrally located coffee bar in our building to get my first refill when I was rerouted out the front door instead by fellow employees wearing orange netted vests and carrying flashlights. I realized right away that we were having a fire drill. However, I was not invited to this drill party with a flashing light or siren - I sort of just dropped in on accident. Once safely in the parking lot outside -I told my manager that there was no warning in my office and that my fellow co-workers were still there working merrily at their desks. She told an orange vest and they were retrieved.
So... I guess if there is a real fire or bomb-threat - my department will be the last to know. Comforting.

Fire drills make me feel like I'm at elementry school all over again. That is one cool tamborine, Sun.
Yikes. Maybe you should move your desk next to the coffee bar for easy access AND safety?
Hmm... if I only could - the coffee bar is a favorite spot of mine!
