OH MY GOD! it's almost christmas...

Wow... looking at the date of my last entry, I haven't written (blogged) in a century, feels like.

So what have I been up to? Let's see...

Another birthday come and gone. Another Thanksgiving come and gone - although this year I cooked my first turkey dinner. It came out OK, if I do say so myself, but man, it's a lot of work to prepare! So I'd like to take this moment to thank my mother (and in recent years my sis-in-law and master chef nephew) for years of culinary holiday service. I did miss being with the whole family - it was one of those fractioned years of some did this and some did that. I think a big Christmas dinner is planned to make up for it, though - and I will only be baking desserts!

My workplace is giving us from the 12/24/08 through 1/4/09 off (paid - whoo hoo!)... so it will be movies - parties - maybe even a date or two - in addition to some home improvement projects like throwing clothes in a Good Will pile and taking them down there, dying slip-covers, staining my pine furniture a dark walnut. And the biggest project of all - POSSIBLY putting a vast amount of my CDs on my computer/iPod(s)... because I own lots of CDs and they are taking over my cabinets... floor space... and it is my humble opinion that music should be heard and not seen. If I get even one of these projects done it'll be a good thing... but most likely I'll just be seeing lots of movies instead.

Christmastime is here... and I still have a sh**load of shopping to do. Ugh. However, I heard that there may be rain in the forecast next week - so I'll hit the outdoor malls! I inadvertently did this last year and was pleasantly surprised at the easy parking and no-line service in the stores!

I hope to get back into writing mode... I'm not sure why I embark on these hiatuses, maybe I just have nothing so say?

Impossible!

Happy belated birthday! Congrats on the turkey. I did a turkey last year & although it turned out well, it was rough.
